Petroleum Resin
The use of oil by-product of cracking olefins for polymerization of olefins or ring or with aldehydes, aromatics, terpenes and other copolymer resins made of the general nature of the material. With acid price and good miscibility, low melting point, water resistance, and resistance to chemicals, ethanol, and so on. Soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons, insoluble in lower alcohols and ketones. Mainly used in paint industry, such as oil and resin emulsion used to enhance the synthesis of latex paint, light-colored petroleum resin for the manufacture of oil-based varnish to improve the gloss and adhesion. Is also used in rubber industry, with a low softening point resin as a plasticizer, a resin with high softening point to improve the hardness of synthetic rubber. Also used for preparation of hot melt adhesive, and traffic signs paint, printing ink and paper hydrophobic agent.
